What We Do
Farmers' Hen House began in 1997. An Amish man wanted to provide local Iowa farmers with a way to keep their small farms sustainable. In 2000, Mark Miller took ownership of the company and has continued to use only small family farms. It is a family run business with his son Ryan, being part owner and General Manager.
High quality eggs produced from hens that are raised in open barns and fed an all organic diet turn out a superior product for Farmers' Hen House. Most of the producing farms are within a 10 mile radius of the processing facility, with the rest being in Brighton, Sigourney, Bloomfield, and Northern Missouri. Amish and Mennonite families operate these farms and have been farming for generations. Many of these farms grow their own grain for these chickens.
When you choose to purchase Farmers' Hen House eggs, you support the small local farmers and you chose a healthy food choice for your family. In Iowa, you can find these eggs in Hy-Vee (select locations), Fareway(select locations), and New Pioneer in Iowa City/Coralville. These eggs also travel to 13 other states!
